Remastered editions of classic titles can go either way. While some games end up being praised for their enhanced versions, others may be received with anger by disgruntled fans for tinkering with their favorite games. It’s always between the gray line and that won’t change anytime soon, but having said that, there are some titles we do want to be remastered and see on our modern consoles. Here are the Link-Cable staff’s personal picks as to which title we want to see remastered.

Jacob S. – Donkey Kong Country Trilogy

The Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest is my favorite game of all time, but it wouldn’t seem right to leave out the other two titles in the series out, so I picked all three Country games. We have a glimpse of what a remastered edition might look like for the updated visuals of the Kong games with both Returns and Tropical Freeze, which ushered Donkey Kong and friends back into the gaming world. While the pre-rendered 3D graphics are a staple to the franchise, it would be awesome to see the original trilogy turned into a modern masterpiece. While we are at it, let’s get the team at Playtonic Games to help out with development just for old time sake.

Colin K. – Fallout / Fallout 2

Fallout and Fallout 2 are two classic games that came before my time. I’m a big fan of the Fallout series, and recently I’ve been playing through Fallout 4 again. It’s been getting me to think about the older games in the series, and what I’ve missed out on. Sure, I could pick them up on Steam, but they would just end up a part my already scary backlog. Now, if Bethesda, or perhaps Obsidian Entertainment, could reimagine them and port them to the Fallout 4 engine, I’m sure I wouldn’t be the only gamer rubbing their hands together and drooling at the prospect…

Alex S. – The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

My pick goes to the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, a game that not only proved that motion controls had a place in ‘hardcore’ adventures but also moved the Zelda series forward in terms of puzzle design, dungeon layout and storytelling, the latter being on full display in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Seeing Skyloft and the untamed mass that would become Hyrule again but this time in glorious HD is a tantalizing prospect and one that I hope Nintendo doesn’t wait too long to get to. Plus who wouldn’t love seeing Groose again?

We voiced our opinions on which game we want to see remastered, but we want to hear from you. Which title do you want to see get an enhancement? Or are you a purist that wants to play the games of the past on your retro console? Either way, let us know what you think in the comment section below!
