We have reached the last part of our picks of games that should be remade. Microsoft’s Xbox brand is the youngest of the three major players in the console making business, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have their fare share of IP’s to play with. With a flashy new console iteration with the Xbox One X, now is the perfect time to bring back some older IP’s in the 4K spotlight. Having said that, here is our take on which games that Microsoft should remake for this generation.

Jacob S. – Perfect Dark

The reason for Microsoft’s acquisition of Rare was for the opportunity to bring familiar faces and new takes on what was their first console with the original Xbox. This has been a train wreck since day one as the original studio is practically a former shell of itself that was mostly responsible for bringing god awful Kinect games and other never lasting projects. The company has had a resurgence in trying to create a massively open game in Sea of Thieves, but it’s the properties that Microsoft brought in that we want to see again. One such game is Perfect Dark, one of the Nintendo 64’s masterpieces and one of Rare’s best projects. Seeing Joanna Dark back in a full revitalized work, brought in 4K HD would be a good starting point to start counting my pennies towards an Xbox One X and I am sure many others are thinking the same.

Alex S. – Kameo: Elements of Power

Like my younger bro’s pick above, I want Rare to bring back the titles that made them such a rare gem of a developer during the SNES and N64 era, but it’s a later title that I want to see come back. Kameo: Elements of Power for the original Xbox (the 1st Xbox One if you will) was an incredibly creative title (maybe even Rare’s last great game) and its a big shame that we never got to see it again in any shape or form.

Colin K. – Fable

Fable, released back in 2004, is a quirky little game. It spawned two great sequels, but I wouldn’t call the original Fable great, or at the very least I would hesitate before I did. If there is any game I would want Microsoft to take a look at remaking, it would be Fable, Fable II and Fable III are classic games, and I would love to see a re-imagining of Fable along those lines. Fable did see an HD re-release back in 2014, but it really didn’t do enough to make it more engaging. Microsoft needs more games in the Fable franchise, and a reboot of the original seems like a good place to start!

There you have it. A list of games that Microsoft should be brought back for this generation of gamers. Did you have a specific game in mind that you wish Microsoft would revitalize for the Xbox One brand of consoles? This also concludes our mini KOTRC series on games that should be remade and we hoped you enjoyed each one of them.
