Yesterday, at Sony’s E3 press conference, we got a quick announcement that we were able to get our hands on a demo for the upcoming mash-up fighting game, Marvel VS. Capcom: Infinite. The short demo gave us many looks into what to expect in Capcom’s newest installment in the franchise and from our short time with the game, we can tell that its is going to be bigger than ever before.

To start off, this game is purely 100% fan-service. All your favorite Capcom fighters are all accounted, including Chris Redfield, Mega Man X, Dante, Chun-Li and Arthur to all the superheroes that we know and love with Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Rocket all make a grand appearance. All working together in this mass mashup of unforgettable characters makes for one of the most unique fighting rosters in recent memory. With such a vast roster selection, it is looking that Marvel VS. Capcom: Infinite will have a unique story to tell.

The combat takes queues after its arcade brethren rather than the more technical fighting games that recently released, making it far more accessible for new players who might not want to have to learn complex combo’s, but still offers a sense of difficulty when trying to master it. In its brief single player campaign, we were taught how to play and the game’s core mechanics, while giving us a bit of the inside scoop as to what to expect from the cross band of heroes.

Marvel VS. Capcom: Infinite’s short demo gave us a glimpse as to what to expect from the mash-up fighting game, it is shaping up to be yet another great fighting game for this calendar year. From the diverse roster to its accessible arcade of gameplay, this should be another smash hit for the fighting genre and the franchise. We can’t wait to see and hear more from the game, and with the promise of new fighters, it is hard not to get excited for Marvel VS. Capcom: Infinite.
